Students will recognize adverbs and the words that they describe. Adverbs in several different positions within a sentence are studied. The correct usage of comparative and superlative forms of adverbs is practiced. Students will be able to distinguish between adjectives and adverbs.
Chapter 7 Objectives:
• Identify adverbs in a sentence by using the questions they answer. • Differentiate adverbs and adjectives in a sentence based on form and function. • Analyze your own writing for rhythm, and adjust it if necessary. • Avoid double negatives and double comparisons in writing.
