Analytic Geometry

Overview

The orbits of celestial bodies can be modeled by equations representing conic sections. Analytic geometry provides a way to describe their motion through God’s created universe. Students will learn to identify the standard form equations for parabolas, ellipses, circles, and hyperbolas. A solid foundation in analytic geometry is established through identifying key characteristics of the graphs and equations of conics throughout the chapter. This chapter also introduces parametric and polar equations of conics.
