Linear Systems

The first half of this chapter discusses three ways to solve a system of linear equations, including the classification of those solutions. Motion and mixture problems allow students to practice real-life applications. The chapter concludes with systems of inequalities and their graphs.

What you can expect to learn

After completing these activities you should be able to

  1. Solve a system of two linear equations using various methods.
  2. Solve and classify systems of linear equations.
  3. Solve motion and mixture problems.
  4. Determine whether a given ordered pair is a solution to a system of inequalities.
