English 6 Overview

English 6 (2nd Edition) continues to sharpen the student's recognition of parts of speech within a sentence. New concepts this year include interjections and nouns as appositives, and classification of pronouns broadens to include interrogative, demonstrative, intensive, and indefinite pronouns. Important concepts such as sentence patterns, independent and dependent clauses, and the use of prepositional phrases are reviewed with an eye toward mastery. Agreement continues to be practiced, both between subject and verb and pronoun and antecedent. Misplaced modifiers are introduced as the student is further prepared to recognize and execute excellent writing skills.
