Overview

Students will review personal pronouns and the proper use of pronoun cases. Several categories of pronouns are emphasized, including demonstrative, interrogative, reflexive, intensive, and indefinite. Students are introduced to relative pronouns. Problems with unclear pronoun reference are addressed.

  • Identify the correct use of subjective and objective case pronouns. 
  • Identify various functions of pronouns within a sentence. 
  • Apply the rules of courtesy order to the use of pronouns in a sentence. 
  • Correctly categorize pronouns as demonstrative, interrogative, reflexive, intensive, indefinite, or relative. 
  • Identify and correct problems with pronoun reference.
